So week 5 is already here. This week topics: Rubrics, Project-Based Learning, WebQuest, and looking into possible solutions of issues. Still a lot to accomplish this week, but so far so good.
I have decided to test Glogster to share today's experience of introducing Ipads and new activities into my class. You are more than welcome to have a look at my pictures and first impressions of today's class. I wanted to add my Gloster directly into my blog, but it seems like you can only share it on Facebook and Twiter. So, if you are interested, please visit the following website : http://www.glogster.com/jromerodehoyos/wishlist-glog-by-jromerodehoyos/g-6li8rjv9rogefh49go8qka0
I saw your Glogster (by the way, I really like this tool! You can create such lively presentations!) You are lucky to have been able to use state-of-the art technology in your classroom. In Greece, i-Pads are used but by older people so I don't think I would be able to do something like that in my class. Still, I could divide my Ss in groups and have them work on the school computer... (it would be really time-consuming though!) Now, I see the amazing results that the use of technology can bring in a class! Great work Jessica!
ReplyDeleteThanks Georgia!
DeleteI still think you should ask your students if they or their parents own an Ipad. I think you might be surprised! I agree making this Glogster was time consuming, but it was my first time. Surely the future times would be much easier. I am sure your students would love it, just plan lots of time for your first class to show them!
Hi, Jessica!
ReplyDeleteI liked your idea of using Ipads in the classroom. You were not sure about the boys, and your fears proved to be right. But this is maybe the first step in motivating them, which means you would probably have to use more technological tools at the lesson. I think the lesson was a big success, and that the students enjoyed it.
Good luck
Vicky
Thank you Vicky!
DeleteIt has worked wonders so far. I did again for another activity, and it is a bit stressfull in the begining as it is a pretty new tool for most. But once you get going, we are all happy in the classroom working together!
Cheers!
